The food sector uses our reliable UVC units to disinfect the places where food is harvested, made and packaged. But how about foodservice, restaurants, hotels, cafes, coffee shops, and the hospitality industry as a whole?
Food hygiene is critical, as revealed by the government’s dedicated web pages. 1st May 2023, for example, saw Cadbury recalling branded dessert products because of a potential Listeria risk. On 28th April 2023 a cheese company had to recall various goat cheeses for the same reason.
Antimicrobial resistance or AMR is another serious risk for the food sector. Resistant bacteria can be spread to humans via the food chain. It can happen thanks to careless animal slaughtering, and resistant bacteria in animal poo used to fertilise land. The same goes for vegetables, fruit and shellfish contaminated by water containing AMR bacteria. Cross-contamination through poor food-handling is always a risk.
Cleaning well, cooking thoroughly, chilling correctly and avoiding cross-contamination are all essential whether your business is involved in processing and manufacturing food, or preparing, cooking and serving it to customers. But good hygiene can be a complicated task when you need to keep everything safely disinfected at all times.
Proven UVC disinfection for foodservice and hospitality
So what can you do to make your life easier, your food products safer, and the places food is served clean for customers? And how about keeping your employees safe as well?
Our new duct probe, the CT-X4, can be used above conveyor belts and other places in the food production chain, as well as in food sanitisation cabinets where products must be 100% germ free.
Our
CT-X3 Upper Air Germicidal Units are another popular way to keep food and people safe from pathogens, offering excellent Indirect Fixed Air Sterilisation. It’s ideal when there are people present and you want continuous disinfection. It’s a simple job to install them above people’s heads, where they prevent cross contamination by reducing the air’s viral load.
Our
CT-X3 units also disinfect the upper air but they also shut off when they detect movement. This makes them ideal for changing rooms and toilets. When the area is vacant the light switches on to disinfect the space. When motion is detected it automatically turns off.
Our
CT-X1 unit offers continuous disinfection when people are present, idea for cafes, restaurants and hospitality settings. The units are easy to install above people’s heads to stop the cross contamination of viruses and germs, again dramatically cutting back the viral load in the air.
If you prefer a mobile solution to disinfection, our popular
Mobile UVC LED Steriliser Units provide exceptional Direct Fixed Surface Sterilisation that you can wheel around to any location you like. Choose from 200W or 600W of UVC power for fast deployment and intense disinfection. They’re the only sustainable, chemical free disinfection solution available and they do a superb job.
