- China claims one of its own two coronavirus vaccines, currently being tested, could be ready by the end of 2020
- Scotland is seeing a 'definite trend' in rising cases
- Also in Scotland, a new coronavirus calculator cleverly identifies the areas of Scotland most likely to become new hotspots
- Pupils at a Cardiff secondary school are self-isolating for 14 days after a confirmed case of Covid-19, something we're expecting to see a lot more of as more of our schools re-open. A total of 8 Welsh schools are affected at the moment
- Cases have been confirmed at schools in the north east and Norfolk. One school in Suffolk has closed because five teachers have tested positive
- India has overtaken Brazil to become second worst-hit country on earth, second only to the USA. India has just experienced a daily record for new cases, with more than 90,000 reported in one day. India's doctors are suffering from exhaustion, and the country is starting to run out of medical supplies
- A new Hong Kong study suggests stool testing might be more effective for babies and small children, since they tend to have more of the virus in their poop than adults
- The Competition and Markets Authority, CMA, says the Bijou Weddings Group will have to give 'fairer refunds' to those whose weddings were cancelled because of coronavirus
- The respected biotech company BioNTech says it has widened its global vaccine study, and will soon start testing on volunteers in Germany
- The UK could see a second spike in cases very soon if young people don't follow social distancing rules, according to the Health Secretary. He has also been asked to explain how coronavirus cases will be reduced after almost 3000 new infections were reported in the UK, the biggest daily number since May
- Pizza Express's recovery plans mean 1100 people could lose their jobs
- Five Greater Manchester Boroughs are all on red alert as UK cases hit a 3 month spike and infections in the region rocket to April levels
- One community group in Durham wants better transparency about coronavirus testing at Durham county jail, where August saw 29 confirmed cases
