Research into covid continues. It’s still a mystery in so many ways, especially the Long Covid aspect of the infection. Studies into the use of UVC light at a dedicated wavelength also continue, with study after study revealing how safe, effective and efficient the light is at killing covid – plus awful diseases like SARS, MERS, Ebola, Hospital Acquired Infections and many more.
Put them together and what do you get? A highly effective way to prevent the spread of covid, keep people safe indoors at work and play, and reduce the risk of more variants and sub-variants emerging. Let’s see what’s happening out there.
The scramble to understand BA.4 and BA.5
As the BA.4 and BA.5 variants spread fast across the UK, the government says there’s no need to worry. Scientists and medical experts disagree. All over the world teams are dedicated to discovering more about the sub-variants we’re battling at the moment. Scientists and medics are hoping against hope that a new, worse variant or sub-variant doesn’t arrive thanks to the huge surge in new cases.
Research into the causes, symptoms and potential cures for Long Covid
At the same time there’s an equally large body of research looking into Long Covid. There’s a huge amount of time and effort going into figuring out the causes, the symptoms, and the longer term implications of the condition that has seen people like the investigative journalist John Simpson, aged just 37, unable to live a normal life. Three bouts of covid have left him exhausted, depressed and without the strength to button up his duvet cover, and he has been forced to move back to his parents’ place.
Celebrities suffering from Long Covid
A growing number of celebrities are suffering from Long Covid, have had it, or are still in recovery from it. The list includes Lena Dunham, Gwyneth Paltrow, Billy Eilish, Marianne Faithfull, Salma Hayek, Danny Berstein, Emma Sams, Alyssa Milano, Anna Camp, the tennis player Grigor Dimitrov and the rower Jonny Walton. Plus Carol Vorderman, Michelle Mone, Antony Loveless, Chris Cuomo, and the MP Andrew Gwynne. Then there’s Prince Charles, who had covid a while ago and still suffers from a loss of smell and taste ‘months later’. All this helps highlight the risks faced by millions more ordinary people.
UVC light covid-killing tech proven time and time again
Every week we see more reports about technologies like ours that use a very specific wavelength of UVC light to kill covid and a range of other pathogens by wrecking their DNA and RNA. This time around we’re seeing news stories from the Philippines, the EU, Malaysia, the USA, Canada, India and more, all of which either have teams of scientists and technologists exploring the potential, machines already on the market, or more new research to share.
Roll it all together and the message is clear
Covid is back in the UK with a vengeance. Long Covid is becoming more of a problem as time goes by, with around 2 million of us in the UK already suffering from ongoing symptoms. UVC tech is proving an exceptionally effective and affordable way to keep people safe from covid infection.
The message is clear. None of us want another dodgy variant or sub-variant to emerge. We all need to minimise the risk of catching covid, whatever our age or state of health. And there’s a sure-fire way to help make that happen. Let’s talk about how our powerful, safe UVC LED tech will keep your business premises clear of covid, helping you to do your bit for a better future economy, for our health service, for your employees, your customers, and everyone’s future.
