It first appeared in late 2019. By March 2020 the world was locking down. 2021 was mostly a wash-out. Here we are, in 2022, and covid remains with us. There’s no doubt we’ll see more variants, and they might or might not be more dangerous. But one thing is clear. We can’t keep lurching from crisis to crisis. We need to find ways to start living with the virus, ways that keep ourselves safe and protect people who are vulnerable. So let’s look at how that might work.
Common sense ways to stay safe from covid
We’re fortunate that a few simple actions make a big difference to our own safety and the safety of other people. Covid could have been so much worse. Imagine if it was as deadly as Ebola? It could easily have happened.
There’s no scientific doubt that wearing a face mask or covering is a really effective way to stop you from spreading the virus to others, and wearing a mask also helps stop the virus from entering your own mouth and nose. There’s also no doubt that simply keeping your distance from other people helps curb the virus’ spread. It’s simple logic. Enclosed and crowded spaces are naturally more risky to spend time in than being outdoors or having the windows open.
Vaccinations are one of humanity’s most powerful weapons. The more of us are fully vaccinated and boosted, the less able covid is to spread and, if we catch it, the less likely we are to be ill enough to be hospitalised. There’s more. The fewer people covid infects, the less chance it has to morph into different variants and the safer the world’s people will be.
Testing and self-isolation are also reliable ways to help curb the spread of the virus. Washing your hands and covering your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze are always sensible actions to take. And working from home is another reliable way to stay safe as well as keeping others safe.
Add all these simple things together and we can all go a long way towards avoiding infection in many situations and contexts. But what about the times, places and circumstances where there’s still a risk?
UV light delivers powerful, proven covid inactivation
Workplaces and schools, theatres and cinemas, beauty salons and dental clinics, nursing homes and cruise ships, cafes and gyms, offices, factories and childcare facilities... these are all settings where our proven UVC technology works beautifully to kill covid stone dead in no time.
Some of our lamps continually disinfect the air in a way that’s so safe people can be in the space and come to no harm whatsoever. Other lamps come with a dual action. Integrating surface and air sterilisation, they only enable powerful direct ‘line of sight’ disinfection when a sensor reveals there’s nobody in the space. We also provide purification lights, vehicle sterilisers, and mobile sterilisers. They’re all sustainable, chemical-free, and don’t give off any ozone. They use minimal energy thanks to LED bulbs. And they are all deadly to harmful micro-organisms.
Faced with our technology, covid doesn’t stand a chance. And that makes it one of the best ways to live with the virus, whatever your business or organisation. If that sounds good, it is. Let’s talk.
