Our UVC LED lamp technology is tailored to fit any application you like. If there’s a need to specially-engineer our tech to suit your industry, we’re always happy to discuss the potential. So how does it help keep the nation’s children safe from pathogens at school and in childcare settings? Let’s take a look.
Infectious disease in schools and childcare settings
Your child picks up something at school, brings it home, and the whole family gets it. You’re off work either caring for a sick child or recovering yourself, which means the company you work for – or the business you run – suffers. The same happens in every other household whose children have caught the illness. Some kids suffer more than others, as do some adults. All this means the fewer school-related illnesses are allowed to happen, the better it is for everyone.
Local authorities publish guidelines for schools on dealing with infectious disease. Staff are given guidance about working with pupils with infectious diseases. The spread of diarrhoea and vomiting, scarlet fever, dysentery and hepatitis A and more can be controlled with good hygiene. There’s even guidance around avoiding transmission between children and animals, for example on school visits to farms. And of course there are procedures to follow when a school suffers an outbreak of a notifiable disease. It’s no surprise most schools have a trained and named person to co-ordinate the response to infectious diseases.
Thorough cleaning matters
As you can imagine, thorough organic cleaning is vital in places where children spend time. But how do schools afford the high level of hygiene standards required to stop diseases spreading through the premises like wildfire, putting pupils, teachers and support staff at risk?
You can imagine how tricky it is to constantly clean classrooms and common play areas efficiently and quickly. It became apparent during covid how much of a challenge it is. The cost of human cleaners, the chemicals they use, and the sheer amount of time it takes soon stacks up.
Luckily there’s another way. It’s more efficient and effective, doesn’t involve any chemicals, costs very little to buy and is low-cost to run. It’s easy to fit, safe, and works silently in the background to kill a huge list of pathogens in minutes.
Our UVC pathogen-killing lights are the perfect way to clean everything from common areas, bathrooms and classrooms to toys and play equipment, all with clean UV light at a special wavelength. We’ve also created a couple of superheroes, Captain Cool Tech the Silent Guardian and the Cool-Tech Crusader Ultra Violet, to help educate staff and children in keeping infectious illnesses at bay.
Does that sound sensible? If so, let’s talk about helping your school become safer, cleaner, and less at risk of the illnesses that can send kids, teachers and essential school support staff home in droves.
